Is Aeroflot too big for Georgia?

When it comes to business, I would say that the title of the article is invalid.
Irrespective of the fact that Russia is bigger than Georgia as well as Aeroflot is bigger than its Georgian counterpart, Aeroflot still needs the business of operating commercial flights to/ from Georgia. However, it is totally up to Aeroflot to apply a pricing policy of its own for its flights between Moscow and Tbilisi. After all, it is a free market in both Russia and Georgia.

Class action petition sent to Aeroflot

Established and operating most of its lifespan under the Soviet umbrella, Aeroflot still lacks some skills needed for offering appropriate customer services.
Despite the fact that the flight delay was beyond the control of Aeroflot, the airline was supposed to offer its passengers a timely update about the situation as well as on-site proper compensation.
Welcome to the era of doing business the customers' way, not the providers' way.

Aeroflot sees common problems for airline alliances

Seemingly, Aeroflot is holding something for the SkyTeam.
Aeroflot is applying the tactic of splitting the board of directors into two groups for maximizing the exposure of their semi-hidden, semi-declared agenda. The first group to release some news while the second to deny it. Kommersant relayed what the first group has said about SkyTeam. Mr. Vitaly Savelyev was representing the role planned for the second team. He used the media exposure already available to cover the sponsorship agreement of Aeroflot to Manchester United to dilute what has been leaked by the first team.

The irrelevance and weakness of those reasons mentioned by Mr. Vitaly Savelyev about SkyTeam are just another proof about the seriousness of Aeroflot’s intentions toward SkyTeam.

Aeroflot transfers some flights from Moscow Sheremetyevo to Vnukovo

It is quite strange to start talking about infrastructure limitations after only 4 years of operations. Terminal D of Sheremetyevo was inaugurated in 2009 exclusively for Aeroflot.
It is just 4 years into the life of the terminal and the passenger traffic is already more than 45% of its maximum capacity. It is totally safe to conclude that the forecast of passenger traffic was inaccurate.
Moving some of Aeroflot flights, which are serving leisure destinations, to Vnukovo would negatively affect the passengers of those flights. The idea that those flights are not connected with other flights is definitely a wrong assumption.

Aeroflot renames Kaliningrad into Königsberg

This is quite unusual. The discrepancy between in-flight announcements and Aeroflot’s own website does not make any sense.
Did the cockpit crew manage, in cooperation with cabin crew, to form a contemporary fifth column?
Are they planning to re-annex the city to Germany?
Are flights between Moscow and Kaliningrad still domestic flights? or international flights between Russian Federation and Germany?
By switching to the old name of the city, do Russian passengers need entry visa to travel to Königsberg?

30 seconds with Vietnam Airlines

Sure, the quality of service in Sheremetyevo Airport is far less than its rival Domodedovo Airport. Moreover, Domodedovo takes the lead if we are talking about domestic connectivity. Considering the hardship of transfer between Sheremetyevo and Domodedovo, staying with Domodedovo is definitely a good idea. However, Vietnam Airlines is creating a gap in the vision of SkyTeam by flying to Domodedovo while its SkyTeam’s Aeroflot operates from Sheremetyevo.

What's the future for airline alliances?

Star Alliance does not have a top candidate airline to represent Russia in the alliance. In fact, there are no Russian candidates as S7 is committed to OneWorld while Aeroflot is already with SkyTeam Alliance.

Definitely, Russian domestic connections are not that easy due to absence of interline agreements between international carriers serving the two major Russian gateways (Moscow and Saint Petersburg) on one hand and the Russian domestic carriers on the other hand. Seemingly, they are not aware of the potential benefits of those agreements.

Aeroflot's A330 cabin a big step up

Being a Muscovite myself, I can not favor one of my airport-sons over the other two. They are equally doing well considering their respective ages and qualifications.
The point is that they are competing with each other to attract more air traffic. Considering the zero-sum game, the ultimate effect on Mother Russia will be almost the same unless there will be a significant increase in transit traffic.

Aeroflot and Alitalia to get closer

Gone those old days when Aeroflot was flying to many countries in Africa. The Aeroflot’s African network of destinations was mainly supported by the government of Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) in an attempt to spread the communist ideology.
Now, Aeroflot is code-sharing with Alitalia to go back to Africa for supposedly real commercial reasons.

Has anyone flown Aeroflot lately?

Friendly cabin crew:
Aeroflot flights overfly our house here in Russia. The cabin crew members look extremely friendly.
Lucky those passengers who will be benefiting from these good fares. What a bargain to fly at that price surrounded by beautiful Russian air hostesses and have a chance to see Sphinx & Pyramids!

Aeroflot terminal to open in winter

The Russian Federation is eagerly waiting for the opening of Sheremetievo Terminal 3 for the sake of facelifting the international image of the airport.
According to Russia’s Transport Clearing House, Sheremetievo Airport handled 15,066,354 passengers during 2008. Considering the fact that the new terminal will be able to handle 12 million passengers a year, are we expecting congested operation during the early years of airport life?
